Application Architect

Proteus Europe is currently recruiting for an Application Architect who is proficient with ITIL; knowledge and experience of working in a HPE Service Manager environment, and flexible with location, to join our client located in Brussels. This is long term contract lasting for 1000 days!

Our client is a public sector institution, located in Brussels. However, you will be required to work in Luxembourg at least one day a month.

Candidates must be eligible for an EU security clearance in order to apply for this role!

TECHNICAL ANNEX

1. CONTEXT/INTRODUCTION

The following processes are implemented in SMT:

- Incident Management (IM)
- Problem Management (PM)
- Change Management (CM)
- Release Management (RM)
- Configuration Management (ConfM)
- Service Level Management (SLM)
- Knowledge Management (KM)

2. MISSION

We foresee the collaboration of a senior Application Architect/Designer with a wide (>7 years) Knowledge and experience of working in a HPE Service Manager environment.

The expert's area of competence is the analysis of the functionalities of the present SMT environment, the identification of areas of improvements and the implementation of new functionalities.

3. TASKS

The tasks that are to be performed include:

- Design customisations for new releases in the context of a continuous improvement program.
- Design and implement of Connect-it scenarios
- Design and implement of new functionalities via Web services.
- Design and develop customisations in the context of release implementation.
- Document changes and collaborate in the preparation of documentation of new releases.
- Provision of technical assistance to other team members.
- Provide third level support for SMT related issues.
- Identification of the estimation and risks related to the applications' planning, design and implementation.
- Analysis of the integrations with other information systems.
- Participation in technical working groups, progress meetings and meetings with the users.
- Collaborate with the SMT administrator in the configuration of the SMT environment.
- Cooperate in the SMT tuning and performance improvement activities.
- Assistance in the testing, the technical documentation, the deployment, the evaluation and the reporting.
- Collaborate with the DWH implementer to assure the consistency of data.
- Contribute in the overall reliability of the SMT environment in accordance with the ITIL processes supported by SMT (IM, SLM, CM, KM, ConfM, RM, PM)
- Collaborate with the Back Office team in the evaluation and implementation of complex customisation requests.
- Collaborate with the Back Office team in the context of upgrades and migrations.
- Assist the project manager in the various phases of the SMT project.

3.1 Other knowledge and skills:

- Ability to participate in multi-lingual meetings.
- Capability of integration in an international/multi-cultural environment, rapid self-starting and teamwork experience are mandatory.
- Ability to write technical oriented documents.
- Proven experience with ITIL procedures.
- ITIL Foundation certification is considered an asset.
- Experience with HPE SM 9.4x is considered an asset.
- Experience with several HPE SM implementations is considered an asset.
- Experience with other service management tools (eg Remedy, HP Asset Manager) is considered an asset.
- Experience with UNIX/Linux administration is considered an asset.
- In-depth technical knowledge of HPE Service Manager is required.
- Experience on Connect-it customisation is considered an asset.
- Experience in Web services implementations (both SOAP and REST) is considered an asset.
- Very good understanding of RAD elements in HPE Service Manager Language.
- Experience with SSL certificates is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Access, HTML, MySQL, SQL, Oracle PL/SQL, Java, and JavaScript is considered an asset.
- Experience with Application Servers (eg Tomcat) and Webserver (eg Apache) is considered an asset.
- Knowledge on HPE SM Mobility client and Web client customization is considered an asset.
- Very good interpersonal skills and at least 2 years of experience in managing technical teams.
- At least 9 years of experience in service management development.
- Experience with a European Institution or another European Body and understanding of the

European Commission's structure is considered an asset.

4. WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT

- The work has to be performed in the Brussels premises of the Client
- The language requirements include fluency in both EN and FR.
- All documents must be written in English using MS Word 2010 (or higher). Occasional work in Luxemburg may be necessary (on average less than 1 day/month).
