Application Architect

I am urgently seeking a strong BI professional with architecture/analyst skills to join a global company for a great opportunity...

Purpose of the role is to deliver the clients Strategic Delivery tier solutions for business units within a RAD framework. You will be working very closely with the Business units providing solutions to complex problems, helping them realise their commercial product offerings and concepts. You will maintain a deep understanding of client's standard Delivery Tier toolsets, BI/DW technologies, and solution stacks. You will provide the physical designs for the implementation of the offerings and mentor / assist developers.

Principal Accountabilities:
* Maintain a deep understanding of the clients standard Delivery Tier toolsets, technologies, and solution stacks
* Working closely with Global Architecture & Standards to establish technical governance around architectural issues.
* Own the physical design deliverables for Business unit solutions
* Ensure that the appropriate design patterns and standards are used in BI Platform developments.
* Mentor and assists lead developers
* Takes accountability of the components and associated code base
* Provide technical and system expertise to synergize IT strategic direction and product concepts.
* Keeps up to date with technology changes and identifies opportunities for implementation in future systems.
* Manage relationships with business units and other Global Operations groups
* Deliver a consultative service providing advice and guidance on Delivery Tier best practices

Minimum Education, Experience, & Specialized Knowledge Required:
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience
* Minimum of six (6) years experience in software and/or product development with a focus on BI architecture.
* In-depth knowledge of the Microsoft Business Intelligence suite (SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS) with particular focus on Microsoft Analysis Services.
* In-depth Business intelligence experience including architecture, data modeling, ETL, OLAP and reporting.
* In-depth knowledge of writing SQL and MDX queries against the relevant data sources.
* Knowledge of MDX scripting for the definition of objects in a cube.
* In-depth knowledge of MDX for writing queries against OLAP data sources
* Experience of transactional and dimensional modeling.
* Experience of Kimball and Inmon methods.
