For a project with the European Commission we are looking for an Application Architect.
DESCRIPTION OF TASKS
The successful candidate will provide Project Management services for the eFP7 projects.
THE CANDIDATE WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE ACTIVITIES LISTED BELOW (NON EXHAUSTIVE LIST):
- Task 1: Prepare and maintain project and quality plans and tracks activities against the plan, provide regular and accurate reports.
- Task 2: Manage the change control procedure gaining agreement for revisions to the project from the project system owner.
- Task 3: Monitor and re-allocate resources.
- Task 4: Minimizes the project risk.
- Task 5: Guide the team in charge of project activities and review their deliverables.
- Task 6: Apply RUP methodology and enforce project standards.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONSThe work will be carried out on a Full time basis at the Commission's premises in Brussels. The service providers will have frequent meetings in the Commission's services in Brussels with the Research DGs and their agencies (RTD, CNECT, ENTR, MOVE, ENER, REA, and ERC) and occasional meetings in the Commission's premises in Brussels or Luxembourg.
The working languages are both English and French.
OTHER PRECISIONS
THE CANDIDATES SHALL HAVE:
- The experience stated in the framework contract for the requested profile.
- Experience proving the capability to execute the tasks described in § 2.
- Very Good knowledge of English (spoken, written). Knowledge of French is not required but would be an asset.
- Experience in applying RUP in software development project management activities.
- Knowledge of Rational Team Concert or similar collaborative source-control products.
- Experience with cross-project coordination on software project involving interoperability would be an advantage.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification would be a key asset.
- Business knowledge of the Grant Management domain would be an advantage.
- Proactive attitude, communicative (ie good listener), rapid self-starting capability and experience in team management.
- Rapid self-starting capability and experience in international team working.
- Proactive attitude, communication skills (ie good listener) and customer-orientation.
REQUIRED SPECIFIC EXPERTISE (LEVEL 5):Experience in one or more of the following methodologies and techniques:
- Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Rational Unified Process (RUP)
- Unified Modelling Language (UML)
- Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)
