Application Analyst/Web Developer

Contract Term
This position closes at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, March 18th, 2013.

This is a 12 month initial contract with the potential to extend an additional 12 months

Overview
Our Client is seeking an Application Analyst/Web Developer to work with browser-based land management software that automates workflow.

This application has been integrated with several major enterprise applications and has custom reporting functionality through the Datawarehouse. Additional resources are required for the support, maintenance, and enhancement of web-based configuration in this software and ASP.NET templates. These components have been designed and developed using the software Configuration Tool and standard web technologies such as C#.NET, ASP.NET, and XML.

This consultant will be the assigned as the as the business analysis resource for maintenance and enhancement requests.

This will include areas of:

- Business analysis for maintenance or enhancement projects;
- Analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and support of new web components and/or applications;
- Working with business experts, application users, and IT service providers to investigate and resolve application issues.

Role and Responsibilities
Reporting jointly to the Application Support Supervisor and the Business Application Solutions Leader, the contract resources will be required to support, maintain, and enhance web templates or application components using the client Software Configuration Tool and standard web development tools and technologies.

Primary duties will include:

- Business analysis for maintenance or enhancement projects;
- Analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and support of new web components and/or applications;
- Working with business experts, application users, and IT service providers to investigate and resolve application issues.

The selected consultants will be assigned as the business analysis resource for maintenance and enhancement requests, and will be responsible for:

- Participating in business process re-design, requirements gathering, and/or system design sessions with key project stakeholders
- Identifying and communicating potential concerns related to functionality and recommending solutions to meet business requirements
- Solving problems and developing creative solutions
- Testing application changes and working with clients to achieve sign-off for user acceptance testing
- Writing documentation based on The City's standard processes and templates
- Investigating and resolving application errors and/or issues reported by business clients
- Sharing knowledge/expertise with team members
- Providing regular status updates to the team, team leader, project manager, and/or supervisor.

Qualifications
Required Skills

- Proven experience with Oracle 10g (or newer) (2+ years)
- Proven experience with Visual Studio and C#.Net (2+ years)
- Proven experience with ASP.NET, XML, and Javascript (2+ years)
- Proven experience with Python (1+ years)
- Proven experience with design, development, and delivery of web components
- Strong communication skills (listening, written communication, and verbal communication)
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to work independently.

Desired Skills:

- Experience with PL/SQL (Stored Procedures)
- Experience with design, development, and delivery of web reports
- Previous work experience with Government Organizations, or equivalent endeavours.
