Apple OS Network Engineer - SC/CTC Cleared - London

A skilled Apple OS Network Engineer is required to work for a government department based in London. Current SC or CTC security clearance highly advantageous.

To manage the Apple hardware and software environment; both server and client side; To ensure devices are optimised at all times by providing knowledge, expertise and implementation support on all changes across the network; To manage the timely build of new devices for hand over to the Service Desk team in preparation for new users; To package and deploy software updates and new applications as directed; To manage and provide operational support for a small team of network analysts

Essential:

Demonstrable practical expertise and knowledge of the build and administration of Apple OS X, both server and client within a mixed Server Side operating system environment;

Demonstrable practical expertise and knowledge of other operating systems, Open Source and Server Side technologies such as Linux, Windows Server and Open LDAP;

Demonstrable evidence of administering centrally deployed tools including Apple Remote Desktop, Apple Workgroup Manager, disk encryption, endpoint protection and antivirus systems;

Practical experience of creating and managing OS X policies, software packages and the deployment of a wide range of applications to OS X clients;

Evidence of strong problem solving skills. This must include well developed root cause analysis, problem resolution, monitoring solutions and patching skills;

A strong understanding of pre-emptive maintenance and monitoring;

Evidence of supporting a major rollout of a new Apple desktop and network environment;

Mac OS X Certified;

Experienced in building and configuring Mac OS X installations to compliance models;

Possesses demonstrable practical expertise and knowledge of networking open source technologies and products;

Demonstrable evidence of working successfully in a desktop/network incident problem management environment.

Desirable:
Demonstrable evidence of building and administering wired and wireless network infrastructure (eg Routers, Switches, Firewalls, Proxy Servers);

Use of Server Side Scripting technologies such as Apple Script; Evidence of administering Servers running VMWare ESXi;

Use of Linux via command line;

Evidence of application support (eg SFTP, Java);

Evidence of administering a virtual desktop environment based on Parallels (eg Debugging, restoring, recovering vm images);

Cisco trained;

Evidence of the administration of Open Source products such as Squid, Dans Guardian and ClamAV; Knowledge of robust security practices; Please apply on line in first instance
