Experienced APPLE ENGINEER required for central government organisation based in London

Candidates will ideally hold current clearance to SC level, if not you must be eligible to undergo clearance prior to start.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL MANAGE THE APPLE HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE ENVIRONMENT, BOTH SERVER AND CLIENT SIDE.

CANDIDATES MUST DEMONSTRATE EXPERTISE AND KNOWLEDGE OF THE BUILD AND ADMINISTRATION OF APPLE OS X, BOTH SERVER AND CLIENT WITHIN A MIXED SERVER SIDE OPERATING ENVIRONMENT. YOU WILL ALSO HAVE PRACTICAL EXPERTISE AND KNOWLEDGE OF OTHER OPERATING SYSTEMS

EXPERIENCE OF BUILDING AND ADMINISTERING WIRED AND WIRELESS NETWORK INFRASTRUCTURE IS HIGHLY ADVANTAGEOUS.

The role will involve carrying out the implementation of a new MDM solution for the management of iOS and Android Smartphone devices. Managing the timely build of new end user devices, including OS X laptops and desktops for hand over to the Service Desk team in preparation for new users. Managing the range of Server Side services in place to manage the GDS OS X estate, including Munki, Reposado and SUS, which are primarily hosted on Linux VMs. Packaging and deploying software updates and new applications as directed. Providing Apple-related guidance to other network team members and work with them to support their ongoing Apple-related technical education.In order to be eligible for clearance candidates must have maintained permanent residency in the UK for at least 5 years.
