App Builder/Cool-gen Developer - Multiple Roles - June 2014 Contract

A fantastic opportunity has become available for experienced App Builder/Cool:Gen Developers within a Government Department for a long-term contract role.

- MULTIPLE ROLES
- 1ST JULY 2013 TO 30 JUNE 2014 CONTRACT

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Developing appropriate solutions (design and code) and related technical documentation;
- Database design
- Providing development effort estimates for changes to existing applications and new applications;
- Providing Code Review and other Quality Assurance tasks for projects and for code delivered by the Section;
- Status reporting to Development Manager;
- Work allocation within small development teams;
- The Implementation of Competency Centre standards (including design, development and unit testing standards);
- Maintaining and developing systems and applications;
- Developing, maintaining and unit testing system components;
- Developing new and updating existing system design documentation;
- Liaising with business analysts and testers to efficiently deliver high quality work;
- Some development in C/C++ and or C# may be required in some positions.

SKILLS:

- Mainframe;
- Cobol;
- C/C++;
- Windows API;
- Microsoft Visual Basic;
- At least 3 years' experience in the following technologies:
- AppBuilder or 3rd generation programming language (3GL);
- Relational database;
- SQL;
- Strong knowledge of XML, XSLT and Datamodelling;
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Access and Excel;
- The ability to quickly gain knowledge of other open source technologies;
- Sound stakeholder relationship skills;
