API DEVELOPER (JAVA)

An API Developer (Java) is urgently required for a long and lucrative project with a major financial services client in Amsterdam.

The API Developer (Java) will IDEALLY have 65% of the following skills and experience -

- Dutch speakers preferred, English mandatory
- Excellent Java skills, including expertise on key parts of the Java ecosystem
- Understanding of Functional Programming principles and demonstrable enthusiasm to learn Scala (experience with Scala is big plus!)
- Very high quality standards
- Experience with REST as an architectural style
- Good understanding of working with pull-requests
- Good communication and social skills

The API Developer (Java) will have experience with RESTful APIs and be comfortable working in a highly dynamic and international banking context. The API Developer (Java) will have knowledge of and experience with RESTful API development and open source technologies/methodologies. Proven engineering skills are a must. Excellent Java skills are required and an interest in and eagerness to learn Scala is also a prerequisite. Besides that, experience in developing tools or frameworks to be used by other developers is nice to have as well as an ability to take responsibility for the quality of what must be delivered.
