Android Software UI Developer

Our client is a hugely popular computer components brand seeking an Android Software/UI/UX Engineer to work on user interface design and development for Android mobile platforms such as smartphones and tablets.

This is not a Front End web/UI developer role! Must be a Sr level Android Software developer to apply to this position.

- Ideal candidate will have very good knowledge of Android Application framework, with working knowledge of Android SDK.
- Good Experience is required in developing complex Java and C/C++ user interfaces on the Android and Linux platform.
- Past experience is required in working with UX team and being able to translate wireframes/UX flows to application fundamentals.
- Ideal candidate will be able to design/develop completely new user interface, and perform unit testing and integration testing.
- Candidate must have necessary skills to integrate the UI with other application components in an abstract manner

Responsibilities:
Candidate will be responsible for designing/developing user interfaces for next generation of smartphones/tablet products and is expected to participate in all phases of software development life cycle.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Android Framework internals
- Android/Linux user-space system level development
- Android/Linux UI development and integration
- Java, C/C++ programming experience on Android framework
- Familiarity with smartphone software development life cycle

HIGHLY DESIRABLE:

- Agile/Scrum
- Experience with other UI technologies such as Qt and QML highly desired
- Experience on at least 1 other mobile platform highly desirable
- Knowledge of Open Source Licenses
- Knowledge/experience of Android Build System
- Knowledge/experience with Git/Gerrit
- Experience developing Test scripts
