Yoh has a contract-to-hire opportunity for an ANDROID DEVELOPER to join our client in Jersey City, NJ.
JOB OVERVIEW:
The primary responsibility of the Software Developer is to develop Android applications. This role will be responsible for developing new solutions, assist in finding effective and efficient solutions for application design, architecture, and performance. The developer will assist in functional, performance, and regression testing, as well as project documentation. This role will interact with various staff members, including program managers, product owners, developers, and QA teams depending on the projects and tasks assigned.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for projects and tasks assigned.
- Participate in daily standup status meetings.
- Participate in project/task estimates.
- Own the technical aspects of the task/project assigned.
- Follows the accepted development process.
- Work with business, development, and QA teams to ensure the application designs conform to accepted standards.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of object-orientated programming.
- Solid knowledge of Java and Android.
- Solid knowledge of application architecture and the APIs used to create one.
- Design patterns.
- Solid knowledge of debugging and problem solving techniques.
- Testing frameworks.
- Familiarity with SQL.
- Version control.
- Experience developing/using reusable APIs, consuming web services (REST) and processing data (JSON).
- Understanding of performance and platform limitations of mobile devices and mitigation techniques.
- Knowledge of Google application guidelines and compliance requirements.
- In depth understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and best practices.
- Ability to review the architecture/design/code - can suggest solutions and improvements.
- Strong work ethic, professional attitude, and a desire to excel.
- Can manage time and competing deadlines effectively.
