Analytical Chemist Job

Yoh has a contract opportunity for an ANALYTICAL CHEMIST to join our client in Research Triangle Park, NC.

JOB OVERVIEW:

A contract opportunity exists to work in the US Particle Science and Engineering department within R experience and expertise to evaluate, and develop active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and drug products.

Key activities include evaluation of pharmaceutical product particle size distributions utilizing cascade impaction and HPLC to support development projects within Product Development. The successful candidate will conduct experiments with minimal supervision and analyze, compile, and report resulting data within the appropriate timeline.

Job Responsibilities:
- To work as part of a multi-disciplinary development team, efficiently liaising with team members, and to participate as needed in technical reviews.
- To evaluate the pharmaceutical performance of active pharmaceutical ingredients that enable robust simplified formulations.
- To perform laboratory studies to identify critical performance characteristics and requirements by gathering, interpreting, and reporting experimental data within the appropriate timeline.

Job Qualifications:
- B.S. in relevant scientific field (eg, Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, etc).
- Possess effective interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to work as a key team member in a small highly motivated team.
- The ability to plan and carry out experiments with minimal supervision and to analyze, compile, and report resulting data.
- Experience with automated HPLC Systems such as the HP Agilent 1100 Series HPLC System and Laboratory Information Management Systems.

Preferred Job Skills/Certifications/Knowledge:
- B.S. in relevant scientific field (eg, Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, etc) with five (5) years of experience in pharmaceutical analytical operations, including method development and cGMP testing.
- Experience with particle sizing techniques such as cascade impaction and Laser diffraction (eg, NGI and Anderson cascade impactors, and Sympatec and Malvern Laser diffraction).
