Analyst Programmer/Developer, C++, Unix, SQL, Luxembourg

BACKGROUND: Software engineering on Securities Settlement Engine and Real Time Settlement systems at a major bank.

TASKS:

Development activities including (but not limited to):

Working with business and functional analysts to determine settlement solutions.

Functional and Technical Design.

Coding of solutions.

Perform applications testing (unit, integration, regression) of large scale systems.

Supporting all activities related to end to end testing including support for business testers.

Analysing production system issues and providing support to internal customers.

Performance analysis and application tuning.

SKILLS:

Development experience with C++, Linux, Unix, SQL.

Appreciation of software development and test process for mission critical systems.

Functional understanding of key processes (ie matching, validation, settlement).

Experience of development methodologies and life-cycles.

Clearcase, UML, Perl/Shell Scripts (to aid development analysis), Application compilation/linking, Performance tuning experience.

Some previous experience in investment banking, Back Office, settlement, Custody, Investment Funds industry, stock exchange or an ICSD (International Centralised Securities Depositary or similar, eg. Crest, Euroclear, Clearstream, LCH Clearnet, etc) is essential.
