This is a 3 month and possibly more contract
Works independently as a liaison between IT and the business partner; identifies and communicates business needs and translates these needs into understandable requirements; manages business unit expectations of initiatives and projects; ensures success of project/initiative by coordinating system and process enhancements and communicating them to the business units and other affected departments before project implementation
Principal Duties supports moderately complex business processes
- Serves as a team member or leader for projects of medium scope and primarily moderate complexity
- Serves as a liaison between the business partners and IT to provide business requirements to meet user needs and maintain established business relationships
- Collects, analyzes, and documents multiple clients' business requirements
- Assesses near-term needs using a structured requirements process to recommend business priorities and advises clients of options
- Leads JAD sessions or requirements elicitation sessions with clients to improve business processes and document business requirements and current and future state process flows
- Develops, writes, and communicates business requirements for the design and implementation of business solutions for moderately complex processes
- Develops, writes, and communicates pre-project deliverables, such as proof of concept documents, requirements, and interface specifications, business architecture model, and use-case scenario specifications
- Ability to apply statistical and other research methods into systems issues as required and review complex data and derives summary conclusions
- Collects research on the competition in terms of best practices, business processes, and procedures; pays particular attention to market strategies and product development

Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in business management, statistics, computer science, or a related field and three years of related work experience in a business analyst role using analysis techniques, writing technical and/or online documentation for end-users or an equivalent combination of education and experience
An understanding of business operations and requirements processes, and business modelling concepts
An understanding of software development methodologies.
