Proteus Europe is searching for an Analyst for a long term project based with one of our clients in Belgium.
Our Client:- They are a well-respected consultancy company who provide a market leading service to a wide range of corporations in both the private sector (banking and insurance), and also the public sector and the European Institutions. They have a proven track record over the last 40 years and have profitably doubled in size on average every 4 years. They have a global reach and have offices in the Americas as well as in Europe and Asia Pacific.
Your New role:-
The role will involve the following:
- Functional and non-functional requirements analysis for IT tools
- High level business analysis, design of new IT systems; development of technical and functional specifications, including use case models
- Provision of quality plans, service level agreements, quality tests, control and assessments
- IS costing and estimating
- Defining quality, test and acceptance procedures and criteria. Test and acceptance of deliveries by third parties
- Implementation of project management methodology (PM² or equivalent) and software development methodology (RUP or equivalent)
- Management of information systems portfolio, project planning, risk and cost/benefit analysis
- Participation in technical working groups, progress meetings and meetings with the users
- Technical Interface between the project leader and the developers
- Liaise with external stakeholders when required
Work executed during this contract shall ensure the following:
1. From the list of systems identified for possible integration, those which have functionality related to mission, meeting, and travel organisation shall be analysed further. The result of this analysis will indicate what type of functionality does logically belong to which application and application domain (Missions, Travel Organisation, Meeting Management).
2. The scope of the MOP project shall be set, clearly identifying the functionalities to be included during the development of the application. The scope description shall follow a - buy before build - approach; any functionality that can be readily provided by commercially available software packages shall be out of the MOP scope. Suggestions to include commercially available functionality in the MOP scope shall lead to a rejection of the deliverable.
3. The depth of integration with other IT systems shall be determined, outlining in more detail the level and means of integration. A cost/benefit analysis using FTE (full time equivalent) in calculations should be provided for each of the interfaces the previous analysis proposed. This cost/benefit analysis will compare the total cost of ownership of the interface during its entire useful life span (including, but not limited to, corrective and evolutive maintenance of the applications that use the interface, potential technology migrations of these applications, as well as the opportunity cost resulting from the fact that the dependency introduced by the interface will limit the independent evolution of the interfaced applications) with the amount of resources saved by creating the interface. This analysis will then be used by the end client to decide, on a case by case basis, whether it is worthwhile to build the interface or not.
The principal of - Security by Design- must be considered and adhered to when setting the scope and identifying the functionalities of the MOP system, and also in determining the depth of integration with the other systems with which MOP will exchange data.
