ANALYST ROLE

ENTERPRISE RISK MANAGEMENT - COUNTRY AND ISSUER RISK - The Country and Issuer Risk Reporting and Governance Function is responsible for ensuring that an appropriate framework exists for the governance, monitoring, reporting and analysis of issuer and foreign exposure across the organization. This includes ensuring relevant publications are prepared for the business units, senior management, regulatory reporting, risk officers, management committees, the Board of Directors and other stakeholders.

A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL BE FAMILIAR WITH LOAN PRODUCTS AND TRADING PRODUCTS INCLUDING DERIVATIVES, FX, AND SECURITIES TRADING AND FINANCING AS WELL AS FAMILIAR WITH FIXED INCOME AND EQUITY SECURITIES POSITIONS. This individual will play an integral role in the design, development and production of standard reports, dashboards, ad hoc analysis and the preparation of executive committee presentation materials for regular portfolio monitoring and decision making. Ad Hoc requests will be supported in this role and may include requests such as Segmented Exposure Reporting, Regulatory Capital and Reserves information, Portfolio Analysis, Scenario Testing and Risk Rating and Limit information. In addition, THIS INDIVIDUAL WILL PROVIDE ANALYTICAL SUPPORT FOR OTHER AREAS OF THE TEAM INCLUDING THE BUILD OUT OF A CORPORATE LEVEL ISSUER RISK REPORTING AND ANALYSIS FRAMEWORK, AND CONTRIBUTE TO THE CORPORATE RISK AGGREGATION PROJECT.

WHILE THIS ROLE IS PRIMARILY FOCUSED ON REPORTING AND ANALYSIS, THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE A STRONG TECHNICAL APTITUDE AND AN UNDERSTANDING OF DATABASE CONCEPTS. In general responsibilities include performing highly complex activities related to business analysis. Duties include providing insights regarding a wide array of business initiatives. Candidate must be willing to mentor other members of the team on business aspects of reporting and data visualization and may directly manage 1-2 team members.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- 7-10 years reporting and analytical experience or a minimum of a Masters degree in programs such as applied mathematics, statistics, engineering, physics, accounting, finance, economics or computer sciences with 5+ years related industry experience.
- MINIMUM OF 5 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE PERFORMING ANALYSIS AND PORTFOLIO MONITORING, DATA GATHERING AND RECONCILIATION, RESEARCH AND REPORT WRITING IN THE FINANCIAL SERVICES INDUSTRY.
- Attention to detail, ability to translate technical and complex information into executive level presentations and the ability to speak the language of the business are essential.
- Demonstrated experience in mentoring and providing guidance to other members of a team and/or less experienced individuals.
- Understanding the aspects of the various risk management processes is a must.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, ability to develop strong relationships with team members, and the ability to self-motivate and work independently are all requirements for this position.
- EXCELLENT POWERPOINT AND EXCEL SKILLS ARE REQUIRED.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Education: 4 year college degree in a business related discipline
- Experience with developing reports in Enterprise Reporting/BI products is a plus
- CFA or CPA preferred.
