Aloha Engineering Technician Job

Yoh has a contract opportunity for an ALOHA ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN to join our client in Fremont, CA.

Job Responsibilities:

- Follow all policies and procedures of the Health/Safety/Environment group.
- Ensure that all standard operating procedures are accurately documented and followed.
- Participate in monthly safety meetings and promote a safe work environment.
- Participate in meeting all regulatory requirements, including, but not limited, to those required by OSHA, EPA and DOT.
- Operate chemical purification equipment.
- Work in glove boxes.
- Assemble and disassemble production equipment.
- Perform basic maintenance on equipment.
- Monitor turnaround of canisters and products.
- Assist with hazardous waste handling
- Maintain accurate inventory and perform housekeeping and waste handling..
- Perform inspections, pull samples and tag material as required.
- Complete required inspections.
- Be involved in quality assurance of products.
- Cross-train peers on approved functions.
- Responsible for functions in Pilgrim and LIMS systems for work-in-process and inventory material tracking.
- Demonstrate ability to obtain proper assistance when confronted with problem situations.

Job Qualifications:

- Basic knowledge of safety issues and hazards related to chemicals.
- Basic knowledge of MS Office.
- Good verbal and written communication skills and teamwork. Interpersonal skills.
- Good organizational skills.
- Familiarity with use of common tools (screw drivers, wrenches, etc.) and plumbing components (valves, pipe, fittings).
- Knowledge of chemical handling desirable.
- Commitment to safety.
- Ability to follow established written procedures and obtain training in operating systems.
- Capable of operating powered-industrial equipment and lifting heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to wear personal-protective equipment, including safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, cartridge respirator and other products required to prevent chemical exposure.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Self-motivated individual with initiative.
- Punctual and reliable attendance.
- Minimum of high school education, or equivalent.
- Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering desirable.
