Airworthiness Engineer 21J (Contract)

Proteus Europe is currently looking for an Airworthiness Support Engineer for one of our clients in the Aerospace sector.

This position will be on a contract basis and will sign off on a quarterly basis with potential for long term work. The successful candidate must have 21J experience in a commercial environment.

Role and Responsibilities:

Working as part of the approved Design Organisation you will support the Head of Design in the production of design airworthiness documentation, and the coordination of Office of Airworthiness activities, leading to the certification of modifications and repairs, as well as providing aspects of in-service support.

Principal Accountabilities:

- Produce written certification documentation, supporting the approval of modifications and repairs to civil and military aircraft
- Compilation of classification forms and compliance matrices against the applicable requirements for each project.
- Production of basic technical publication supplements, where required.
- Coordinate the activities of the Office of Airworthiness with regard to showing compliance with the regulations prior to certification.
- Coordinate periodic Office of Airworthiness meetings, preparing material and producing minutes for these.
- Regularly check for changes to the civil and military airworthiness requirements and disseminate these to the design team.
- Interact effectively with all members of design and airworthiness teams.
- Liaise with customers and the airworthiness authorities as required.
- Ensure that all the work performed is in accordance with company procedures
- To undertake any other duties and responsibilities as may be required by the Line Manager

Knowledge and Experience:

- Minimum of four years' experience within an aerospace design organisation
- Good overall knowledge of airframe and system design
- Overall knowledge of airworthiness regulations (eg EASA CS-25, Def Stan 00-970 etc.)
- Appreciation of all aspects of airworthiness through the lifetime of a product
