Aircraft Mechanic (Contract) - Bedfordshire

The role is commutable from London, Northamptonshire, Cambridgeshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, Essex, and Berkshire.

My client, a world-leader in the Airline industry is seeking an Airline Mechanic on a contract basis in Bedforshire. Having a background in Aircraft maintenance & Aircraft skin repairs, you will carry out the following role:

Shift pattern: Night shift 20:45 - 07:30, 4 days on, 4 days off. 40 hours per week.

Role Description

- In this role, you will perform defect rectification and routine servicing of aircraft as directed by the Certifying Licensed Aircraft Engineer/Shift Supervisor.
- You will undertake aircraft maintenance tasks, whilst ensuring all work requiring a Certificate of Release to Service (CRS) is completed as required by the MOE, EASA Requirements and NAA regulations.
- You will conduct a thorough verbal handover of any partially completed tasks, either being taken on or passed on.
- Ensure that all documentation is completed as far as possible
- Identify any defects or conditions that present a health & safety risk ideally holding a time-served apprenticeship and exposure to an operational line maintenance environment
- You will need to have a high degree of customer focus - both internal and external and being able to work effectively in a team in all levels of the organisation
- You will need to be willing to be flexible to meet deadlines and overcome operational problems
- You must be able to demonstrate working knowledge of Health & Safety Legislation and a technical knowledge of aircraft and hand skills required to carry out tasks as well as having the skills required to perform aircraft skin repair.
- You will have the ability to use aircraft maintenance documentation and computer based reporting and recording systems

Please note: As a an Aircraft Engineer who is compliant with airworthiness legislation, you will comply with all known and notified health and safety requirements, also ensuring that all facilities, tools and equipment are satisfactory for the tasks to be completed and that any defects are notified to the Certifying Technician, Shift Supervisor or Station Manager.
