AGILE PRODUCT OWNER needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in St. Louis, Missouri.

THE BIG PICTURE:

- The Product Owner is responsible for successful leadership of projects delivered following the Agile Scrum methodology.
- This individual will be responsible for all Product Owner tasks such as leading and motivating their agile team, making critical business decisions in terms of business prioritization, partnering with their Scrum Master to adhere to Agile Scrum principals and be a champion of the Agile Methodology, while managing project scope and maintaining product backlog in Agile tool.
- This individual will coordinate with a group of software developers within the Trait Field Solutions (TFS) Team to develop new and enhance existing applications using iOS mobile and web technologies.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Provides leadership, decision making and direction to project team to ensure successful completion of the project
- Identification and removal of potential obstacles and impediments
- Creates the product scope and identifies "minimally viable product" (MVP)
- Develops and maintains a product backlog including story writing, acceptance criteria, estimates, & business value
- Responsible for clarifying specifications with the team
- Prioritizes the product backlog based on business value and the defined MVP
- Uses the estimates and product backlog to determine delivery date(s)
- Reviews the teams work, and accepts (or rejects) stories as for each sprint
- Facilitates and leads grooming sessions
- Prioritizes user stories, defects, and other work items for the team
- Manages/Collaborates with other teams to handle dependencies, negotiate, and reprioritize stories as appropriate
- Ensures core agile team understands the business drivers and business value of the product/stories
- May participate in testing
- Facilitates product demos to key business stakeholders
- Maintains the release plan and strategy
- Represents the product to the project stakeholders
- Announces releases & ensures product rollout follows RPS's Product Launch Process
- Negotiates scope, funding, and schedule
- Identify and manage project risks
- Provides hours and cost estimates for future projects based on the defined MVP for the new project and the core team's output.
- Understand the team metrics, drivers and how to improve the core team's output.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- BS or MS in Computer or Agricultural field or equivalent software development experience
- Ability to make business decisions in terms of prioritization of work
- Outstanding collaboration and teamwork skills
- Strong organizational & problem solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to remove impediments for the project team

BONUS POINTS! OTHERWISE KNOWN AS PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Excellent product knowledge for Agricultural research knowledge.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and tools
- Ability to comprehend complex systems and processes
- Proficient in MS software (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Project, SharePoint)
