Agile Java Developer

Yoh has a contract opportunity as an AGILE JAVA DEVELOPER to join our client in Portland, OR.

Company Overview:
- Our client is recruiting software development professionals to architect and deploy an enterprise-level, service-oriented architecture (SOA) system for remote device management and automated customer service. The system will integrate XIP's extensive business logic experience, accumulating knowledge base, and third-party SaaS connectors using industry-leading integration platforms. To operate and administer the system, XIP will also build a Web portal.
- They are a small, very successful company, achieving over $550 million in revenue with roughly 100 employees. We don't necessarily need people that know all the answers, but our people do need to be resourceful and possess initiative. You won't be handed a bunch of up-front requirements, nor a Legacy system with which to start. Comfort with ambiguity, loose structures, decision making, and learning by doing are must-have behaviors.

Job Responsibilities:
- Build working software with others
- Collaborate with business analysts to outline business processes and project requirements and translate them into enterprise SOA designs, behavior-driven specifications
- Research, evaluate, advocate for, and select appropriate off-the-shelf solutions and tools
- Discuss problems and solutions at varying levels of detail based on context and audience
- Provide by-demand system, and design reviews

Job Qualifications:
- Two to three (2-3) years Software Development experience
- Java language and systems
- XP practices (TDD, CI, peer programming, story cards, continuous refactoring)
- Experience with Scrum or Kanban project management and communication
- Software configuration management
- Familiarity with NoSQL and data warehouses
- Java/Eclipse/Tomcat/Maven
- JavaScript/HTML
- Ajax
- RESTful Web services

Preferred Job Skills/Experience/Knowledge:
- Spring
- Mule ESB
- Drools
- Subversion or GIT
- Hudson/Jenkins
- Ruby on Rails
- Amazon Web Services, EC2 and S3
- Enterprise architecture, integration, and services design patterns fluency
- UML modelling
- Specification by example, behavior-driven design, and domain-specific languages
- Printing industry domain experience
- Cloud services
