Agile Business Systems Analyst (BSA)

Yoh has an immediate one to two (1-2) year contract opportunity for an AGILE BSA with our client in Richmond, VA.

JOB OVERVIEW:

Our client is presently building Agile Scrum teams for long term consulting engagements across the country. We have a near term opportunity in the Richmond, VA area for 2-4 high performing Agile Scrum teams consisting of Product Owner, Scrum Master, Java Technical Lead, 4 Java Developers and 1 BSA. All candidates MUST have strong experience working in high performing, hyper focused Scrum teams with the desire to meet or exceed sprint goals. They expect their Agile teams to live and breathe Agile and will also offer periodic training in various categories such as vertical user story writing, effective backlog grooming, definition of "ready", Tasking, definition of "done" and more from our Agile Practice Director. Projects being supported involve SOA/web service integration for various client domains.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Writing concise and effective User Stories, NOT Use Cases
- Define precise and accurate User Story acceptance criteria that will be used by developers, automation test frameworks and by product owners to insure that product owner intent is effectively captured
- Gather requirements for IT development projects by conducting interviews, work flow analysis, process analysis, and observation sessions
- Evaluate information from multiple sources and help distinguish user requests from user needs
- Interface with all levels of internal clients and analysing current business and software development processes
- Facilitate and clarify customer business needs and translating them into application and operational requirements
- Arrange client reviews of software under development, ensuring client satisfaction
- Foster Agile principles and methods for requirement gathering
- Facilitate Agile rapid and meaningful releases

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor's Degree Required
- Five (5) plus years of Business Analysis experience with a strong emphasis around new software development
- Three (3) plus years of experience in a true Agile/Scrum/XP environment where Test Driven Development (TDD) and similar "test first" techniques and methods are employed
- Experience using Agile "test first" frameworks like FitNesse with Cucumber and other BDD test specification frameworks a HUGE PLUS
- Proven skill and effectiveness in requirements gathering, definition, business planning, data analysis, process analysis, business and functional requirements analysis, system design, testing implementation and change management
- Skill and experience working with traditional use case based analysis of business processes
- Experience performing end-user interviews, leading requirements gathering sessions, and User Acceptance Testing
- Must have exceptional soft skills, including the ability to speak to both technical and business concerns
- Ability to mentor and coach others
