This is an SIO post with the incumbent employed in the role of an Weapons Assessment Manager (AM) part of the Assessment Management Group (AMG) The AMs are responsible to OC Training Assurance and Standards (TAS), for ensuring the correct and effective operation of the assessment processes All the summative assessments which may influence the progress of a trainee/student and are recorded on the Training Administration and Financial Management Information System (TAFMIS). When requested, provide briefings or information to individuals on the principles and practices of assessment as undertaken within the School. The AM will be responsible for ensuring that the assessments used within the School meets the requirements of the course documentation set and external Awarding Bodies. To achieve this requirement the AM will in particular: Be responsible for the maintenance of the exam question catalogue/bank, held within TAFMIS, Using questions held within the TAFMIS, Question Banks, Exams, Statistics (QBES) programme, generate all Multi Choice Objective Question (MCOQ), Short answer and composite exams to meet the standards and carryout invigilating duties for all students both RAF and IDT (International Students) Suitable candidates should have served an apprenticeship or similar. NVQ D32/33 Assessment desirable. Plus 5 years recent experience within an Aeronautical Engineering Weapons specialisation at SNCO level. A working knowledge of DSAT would be highly desirable. All the summative assessments which may influence the progress of a trainee/student and are recorded on the Training Administration and Financial Management Information System (TAFMIS).

KEY TASKS AND DELIVERABLES

- Create, mark and validate all exams for all RAF students and IDT
- Invigilate and administer all exams for RAF and IDT
- Assist and design marking guides for Weapons and Airfield Aircraft rectification.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR THIS ROLE

- Candidate will be required to complete a TAFMIS course (21/2 days) within 3 months of starting
- Suitable candidates should have served an apprenticeship or similar.
- NVQ D32/33 Assessment desirable.
- 5 years recent experience within an Aeronautical Engineering Weapons specialisation at SNCO level.
- A working knowledge of DSAT would be highly desirable

MINIMUM LEVEL OF CLEARANCE PRIOR TO STARTING IS SC CLEARANCE
