Aerodynamic Engineer

A leading client of mine is seeking an Aerodynamic Engineer for a 6 month rolling contract.

The main purpose of the role is to be involved in aerodynamic, structural and thermodynamic design and analysis of compressors and expanders. Design and analysis of thermal management of high power density components. Scoping calculations for performance of components and systems. Preliminary assessments of rotor dynamics.

Key responsibilities and tasks
Aero/structural design of compressors and expanders using ANSYS (CFX and Mechanical).
Preliminary assessments of turbomachinery integration into high speed direct drive systems.
Management of analysis data & contribute to project reporting
Interface with Business Development to evaluate customer requirements
Customer interface and feasibility studies to support new business
Preliminary rotor dynamic/stress analysis as part of design feasibility
Production of data sheets, specifications, design reports, FMEAs performance data documentation as required
Identify technical risks
Define test requirements for design/analysis validation
Support Principal Engineers and Project Managers

ESSENTIAL:- Qualification and Experience.
*Relevant Engineering Degree
*Experience in CFD analysis and interpretation, preferably ANSYS CFX
*Experienced in stress calculations

Essential:- Skills
*Good fundamental engineering knowledge
*'Hands on' approach to problem solving
*Knowledge of engineering calculation methods and approaches
*Ability to use FEA techniques to support the design process.
*CAD
