Advanced QA Analyst

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Required:
Experience with Test Automation Scripts. Strong knowledge of QA methodology and tools. Experience with distributed systems. Experience with testing in distributed and large scale data systems. Demonstrated knowledge of database structures and design. Experience with defining and implementing a performance testing approach. Demonstrated ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences and development staff. Experienced in technical specifications reviews and providing guidance and feedback. Strong organizational skills. Track record of creativity and initiative. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with business analysts, technical staff and subject matter experts.

Preferred:
Demonstrated experience with Rational Functional/Performance Tester. Experience working with health care information systems and/or knowledge of business processes in the medical field and county health departments
Experience with SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) environments and designs. Experience training and mentoring staff. Experience with Health Level 7 (HL7) structure. Experience with the DOH Health Management System (HMS).

Education
Required:
BS in Computer Science or equivalent combination of technical education and work experience. 2-4 years of experience with one or more of the following tools (or similar): Rational Functional/Performance Tester, Rational Robot and Mercury (now HP), Loadrunner, QuickTest Professional (QTP), HP Quality Center.

Preferred:
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field. 5-7 years of QA experience in a software company. 1-3 years of Leading Teams of 3-5 individuals.

Tasks
The selected applicant will serve as the Quality Assurance Team lead. The consultant will be the subject matter expert for all aspects of testing as applied to the Health Management System (HMS) and will be expected to perform the following tasks: Define and setup the automation testing processes, methodologies, and strategies to be used for the HMS. Coach and mentor staff on the testing techniques and strategies of the automation system to be applied. Review the design and development of the automation scripts, and ensure they are developed consistently within the prescribed guidelines. Plan for continuing to maintain and improve test process assets, standards and procedures, historical testing efforts, lessons learned and metrics. Facilitate testing engagements and report status to the HMS Project Manager.

Deliverables
Testing Methodology/Test Plan - organized quality assurance activities which includes: Documentation of the methodology and the roles of associated participants. Planning documentation detailing the intended implementation of the testing methodology. Provide guidance to management regarding the most appropriate use of available tools. Staff mentoring - provide daily direction to assigned resources to ensure comprehension of and adherence to the testing methodology. Test Cases. Testing Performance Improvement Plan. Testing Facilitation - participation in the execution of the test plan and facilitation of resources to achieve goals of testing engagements
