Our Central Government client require ADSC Interviewer's, the role sits within the Army Recruiting Group and is based in Midlothian. The contract will run until end of March 2013. Security clearance level is BPSS and CRB The ADSCs run a variety of assessments that Candidates must pass in order to be made an offer to attend Basic Training. The final element is a structured interview taking account of the candidate's performance throughout the assessment centre. The Interviewer is responsible for conducting each interview in line with the procedure, taking appropriate notes, answering questions, evaluating the individuals performance, recording decisions and reviewing and sharing information with colleagues.

Main Duties/Responsibilities
1. Carry out structured interviews at assessment centres
2. Thorough preparation of each candidate's results prior to interview to ensure that any areas of concern or areas where there is a lack of information are picked up in the interview
3. Answer questions on Army careers and the recruiting process
4. Motivate individuals to give their best
5. Positively represent Army and the careers it offers
6. Take accurate notes
7. Evaluate the candidate against fixed criteria
8. Accurately record decisions
9. Input into overall assessment of individuals

Communication - good listener with strong verbal and written communication skills with experience of interviewing.
Experience - thorough understanding of and empathy with Army/Service values and ethos.
Attitude - interest and enthusiasm of the development of a predominantly youthful target group.
Effective intelligence - able to consider information from a range of sources in a short space of time and draw appropriate conclusions.

This post may require occasional out of hours work in support of evening and weekend selection activities. The interviewer will be required to observe outdoors selection activities on a daily basis to gather additional character information on candidates.
