Adjudicators

Eingestellt von Financial Ombundsman Service

Gesuchte Skills: Support

Projektbeschreibung

adjudicators - London docklands - full time and part time - three year, fixed term contract

starting salary £22,000 - pro rata for part time

What does an adjudicator do? A customer advisor or case handler has a similar sort of role. So do you believe people deserve to receive outstanding customer service every time? Would you like to receive training and support that'll improve your decision making and professional skills? And have you got the kind of perspective it takes to see both sides of the story?

We're the Financial Ombudsman Service - an independent, not-for-profit organisation set up to sort out disputes between financial services businesses and their customers. When a consumer has a complaint that they can't settle with the business, they can come to us. As an adjudicator, you'll look at the information from both sides, and make a decision that ends the dispute.

What are we looking for from you? Well, it'll be your job to work out what really happened in each dispute - and to make a fair and reasonable decision that resolves it. Making the right decisions in cases that can change lives is really important. But so too is being able to explain your thinking in a way that's clear, fair and meaningful to those involved.

So you'll need first-rate skills in listening, thinking, planning and communicating. You'll also have life experience that'll help you understand your customers and ask the right questions. And you'll be someone who shares our values, believes in doing the right thing, and respects the needs of your customers.

What will we give you in return? On top of the starting salary and standard benefits, you can choose the flexible benefits that best suit you and your life. Then there's our 9 - 12 week training academy that will give you technical, personal and professional skills that'll serve you well in your career. And very importantly, you'll have the chance to play a key part in an organisation that has a crucial role in society - making a positive difference to millions of people every year.

If you join us as a part time adjudicator, we'll need you to be here full time for the initial 9 - 12 week training academy and for at least 21 hours across 3 days each week after that.

When we recruit, we actively look for people from a wide range of backgrounds because we want our people to reflect the diversity of those whose complaints we settle. This keeps us in touch and connected - and able to see both sides of every story. We also do our very best to support those who need us to adapt to their circumstances - whether it's our people, customers or job applicants.

So if you think you could make a difference here, please "apply now" to take our online questionnaire and find out if this is the right organisation and role for you. It may take around 25 minutes to complete both parts - and if it goes well, then you can apply online straightaway.
Salary: £22000 per annum + benefits. Date posted: 20/06/2013
