My client, a leading automotive manufacturer, based in Warwickshire, are looking to recruit a Project Engineer to join their Electrical Engineering division on a long-term contract basis.

Position Description:
Leading a team of highly skilled Engineers, you'll oversee and take part in the delivery of the sensors and actuators, key to new features within the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). You'll support sub-teams responsible for specific aspects of the sensors and actuators, ultrasonics, cameras and radars - working to resolve technical issues, and ensuring the timely delivery of high quality components. This extremely complex area of the clients engineering programme will call for a significant level of communication with various specialist engineering system teams. You'll also be expected to liaise with suppliers to ensure all targets are met and technical issues resolved quickly.

Working across all of the clients Vehicle Programmes, the ADAS Sensors and Actuators Team Leader will: -
Liaise with key suppliers to understand the deliverables and timing for all of the components.
Work with the ADAS Module Teams to understand each Programme Requirement and ensure that all deliverables are met at Programme Gateways.
Ensure all Technical aspects of the sensors and actuators have been considered in the design, definition, development and test stages of the Projects.
Structure plans for the ADAS Sensors and Actuators Team, to cover the design, development and test phases for each component.
Monitor and give status across all of the projects.
Manage all issues arising during the project.
Liaise with other teams (Engineering, Manufacturing, Test & Validation etc.) to resolve issues and get resources in place.
Work within the key processes eg Grade, DFMEA, AIMS, Gateways, Device Transmittals.

Skills Required:
Leadership & teamwork.
Detailed understanding of electronic components - specification, development and validation.
Ability to plan and deliver project work accurately under pressure.
Target setting and delivery.
Structured problem solving.
Excellent IT skills

Skills Preferred:
Knowledge of ultrasonics, cameras and radar systems.

Experience Required:
Several years working with electronic systems in design/development/validation.
Delivery of Electronic components.
Leadership of a team of Engineers.
Gateway based programme delivery.

Experience Preferred:
Several years working in Automotive Engineering projects Liaising with suppliers.

Education Required:
Degree or equivalent in electrical/electronic engineering.

Additional Information:
Position will be based at Gaydon but candidate will be required to travel to other sites - Whitley, Castle Bromwich, Solihull, Halewood and also suppliers and should have an appropriately insured vehicle (expenses will be reimbursed).
