Adabas Natural Mainframe Developer

Our Client is seeking an experienced Adabas Natural Mainframe Developer for contract opportunity.

- 6 Month Contract
- Option for Extension
- October Start

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Complete upgrades to existing ADABAS/NATURAL systems to support changes in interfacing systems;
- Pro-actively manage problems. (ie resolving problems and recommending technical improvements in existing applications) - Monitor and tune system performance; - Provide advice and feedback to users/stakeholders
- Provide support and advice to software development teams in regards to: - providing formal advice on technical issues likely to effect the successful implementation of projects; - reviewing design documents and application code; and - ensuring overall quality of applications.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

- Substantial (8+ years) experience designing, developing and maintaining large, complex, mission-critical applications in a Mainframe environment as an Adabas Natural Developer preferably including experience with:
- ADABAS 8.x/Natural 4.2.x (or later)
- MVS OS390/ZOS
- Predict 3.x (or later)
- MVS JCL - High level of Analysis and Design skills backed by practical experience;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills;
- Experience with Agile and/or Iterative methodologies;
- Proven ability to meet deadlines whilst delivering high quality software and supporting documentation; and
- Demonstrated ability to adhere to organisational quality management and SDLC processes.
