Software Engineer - Contract

Job description
There is a demand for experienced Ada programmers. With the current under resourcing within the Software Function and the already high demand within the business for this skill, two contract positions are required.

Skills

Essential
Strong Ada expertise
Demonstrable experience of product development.
Demonstrable experience of software engineering development processes within an avionic/military environment.
Expert knowledge of Object Oriented Design and development.
Ability to integrate and solve technical problems in a combined hardware and software domain

Desirable
Experience in using Rhapsody
Experience in using DOORS
Experience of VxWorks/Workbench
GNAT Ada/GPS
C++

Knowledge and Competencies

Essential
Recent demonstrable experience in Ada and Object Oriented Design in a related environment
Able to demonstrate experience in all areas of the software life cycle from requirements definition through to integration and delivery.

Desirable
Defence/EW business domain experience.
Digital RWRs
RWR/ESM/ELINT

Key responsibility areas
Specification, design, coding and testing of Real Time Embedded Ada software as part of an IPT within the S&PT organisation, developing flight standard software for future products.
Function as part of a team including support, development, peer reviews, etc.
Maintain schedule adherence with specific focus on cost, quality and delivery to time.
