Active Directory Specialist

Working for a global service provider, provide specialist Active Directory skills to the end client.

Duties:

- Act as a resource for on-going Active Directory planning, operations, and deployment;
- Assist with analysis of migration from independent domains and forests to a new forest;
- Deliver timely and high quality solutions to customer problems and requests focusing on root cause analysis, prevention, knowledge transfer, and opportunity generation;
- Manage escalations consolidated Active Directory and sub-cases to ensure timely and high quality resolution of all issues;
- Develop and implement strategies for providing support, resulting in fewer incidents, increased availability, or accelerated deployments;
- Develop relationships with technical directors or lead Architects for the technology you support resulting in more participation in planning;
- Initiate and participate in meetings to share knowledge with other engineers and to efficiently resolve customer problems.

Skills:

- Experience designing and planning virtual environments around Microsoft Hyper-V and the System Center Suite, also involving high-availability and clustering leveraging SAN technologies
- Experience with the Microsoft System Center Suite (2007 and 2012) particularly Virtual Machine Manager, App Controller, Operations Manager, Data Protection Manager, and Orchestrator (Opalis)
- Extensive knowledge about general virtualization and SAN best practices
- Strong Experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2012, 2008 R2 and 2003.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Azure services
- Experience with multi-server environments running VMWare ESX/ESXi/vSphere products and associated management applications (vCenter Server, Orchestrator, Veeam, etc.)
- Knowledge of Datacenter infrastructure including DNS, PXE, DHCP, NTP, SMTP, MS Exchange, AntiVirus, Security
- Knowledge of server hardware platforms such as HP, Dell, and Cisco UCS.
- Experience with SQL Server (desirable)
- Experience with LAN/WAN (desirable)
