Acoustics Systems Engineer

Acoustics Systems Engineer required to be responsible for ensuring that subsystem specifications and interfaces are correctly interpreted and implemented by the supplier, and that emergent technical risk issues and opportunities are communicated back to the main programme. The candidate will also be responsible for assigned system requirements and the flow down of the requirements to the subsystem, including the testability of the requirements. The Acoustics Systems Engineer will work within the Acoustics team and with the Acoustics Vendor to ensure supplier development and test activities are conducted in accordance with programme needs, including oversight of Development and Testing activities, reviewinclude requisite modelling and simulation activities, and interact with the customer in support of the Technical Lead to gain customer understanding and buy-in of analysis approach and results.

The successful candidate will have the below skills:
Proven experience with the successful design, implementation, integration, and test of Dipping Sonar and Sonics based Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) Systems.
ASW Modelling experience.
Experience with leading a multi-disciplinary team.
Able to maintain a balance between attention to detail and gaining an overall understanding of assigned requirements, functions and design within the wider programme.
Good Communication skills & able to work with other staff (engineering and programme management), and regularly with partners, subcontractors and internal product development teams.
Design/Development/Integration/Testing experience.
Deep/Wide technical foundation in Systems Engineering principles and practice.
Able to take technical ownership for radar deliverables.
Able to scrutinse subcontractor technical submissions.
Experience providing technical briefings/presentations up to Executive level.
Experience of DOORS preferred.
Candidate must be willing to undergo a security vetting procedure.
