Accounts Payable Manager, P2P, Process Improvement

My client, a leading international Media house, is looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to join on a long term rolling contract. The successful candidate will have strong P2P and SAP exposure, with process improvement experience being a bonus.

- Reporting to the International P2P Director (who is based in London)
- Work closely with the central retained team, local op co, and outsource provider to drive structural improvements
- Monitor, review and standardize AP process flow for given territory
- Building/Maintaining relationship with AP outsourcing partner in India and Poland, monitoring metrics/trends, identifying issues and implementing corrective/preventive actions
- Review and analyse AP trend (throughput, queues, bottlenecks) with IPO
- Implementation of financial best practices, improve efficiencies and balance internal controls
- Help with the change management to train and educate internal users and external suppliers on the correct process
- Ensure corporate governance, Sarbanes-Oxley and accounting standard compliance
- Drive performance measures/score-cards for the business to improve and ensure quality/service to internal/external customers
- Provide input and recommendations for regional, cross-functional AP process and system design
- Liaise with internal and external parties in case of urgent/high impact escalations
- Hands-on transactional support to help clear pending backlogs/issues, but also look at root causes and identify structural improvements to avoid repeat issues. This will include training NBCU users on the systems and processes, calling suppliers when necessary to update their masterdata/educate them on the process, etc.
- Must be able to travel extensively
