Accounts Payable Controller

ACCOUNT PAYABLE CONTROLLER - 6-12 MONTH MATERNITY CONTRACT

The role is providing maternity leave cover for between 6 and 12 months starting 1st October.

Experienced accounts payable controller needed to join finance department within Deutsche Telekom (UK) and assume sole responsibility for accounts payable function.

Must be able to run whole AP function on own initiative with limited intervention and proactively resolve outstanding queries.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

- Processing and scanning all invoices/credit notes received by company via post and email.
- Check and enter invoices into SAP (via purchase orders and vouchering).
- Obtain invoice approvals from cost centre managers within both DTUK and group companies.
- Create and upload manual journals in SAP
- Prepare Payment Runs.
- Liaise with parent company to ensure sufficient funding for payment runs.
- First point of contact for all accounts payable queries.
- Produce and distribute monthly travel files to cost centres.
- Run AP reports.
- Filing and general AP housework.
- Provide additional support for various departmental ad-hoc projects during the month.
- Dealing with auditor queries at year end.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

- Experienced in accounts payable function with ability to manage own workload and work individually and as part of a team.
- Good Excel skills.
- Exposure to SAP would be advantageous as it is the core system for this role but is not essential.
- German language skills could occasionally be useful but is not essential.

PERSONAL SKILLS

- Ability to communicate proactively and effectively is essential as this person will need to work with all members of the finance department. This role will also be in contact with overseas group companies and other non-finance personnel within the company.
- Able to work to tight time-scales around month end reporting and as part of a team
