Senior Accounts Payable Consultant (12 Month Fixed Term Contract)

SALARY: up to £19,000
LOCATION: Wilmslow, Cheshire
DURATION: 12 Month Fixed Term Contract
HOURS: 35 hours a week, Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm

An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen for a Senior Accounts Payable Consultant in the Group Financial Controls team in Wilmslow.

Your primary responsibility is to provide a service to the business for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Personal Expenses. You shall assist the team to efficiently achieve daily workflow deadlines by processing supplier invoices, staff expenses and sales ledger in addition to operating the processing of payments, receipts and personal expenses which should all be completed on a same day next day turnaround and in compliance with Finance Standards.

We are looking for a strong self-starter who can not only perform the operational duties, but assist with taking responsibility to ensure work allocation needs are met within the team and as a department we are operating efficiently.

This role is a secondment opportunity of up to 12 months, covering Maternity.

Key Responsibilities:

- Work with SAGE finance system to perform Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Personal expenses duties.
- Provide a high level of customer service and team support and work well as part of a team to ensure the smooth and efficient completion of all daily work.
- Be proactive in providing support and assistance to colleagues to ensure goals and objectives are achieved.
- Management of the daily workflow so all service level agreements are achieved within the same day next day turnaround.
- Take responsibility for risk management and Financial Crime by ensuring identities are confirmed when discussing sensitive information and being vigilant where required, particularly when using on-line systems and email.
- Data protection guidelines must be adhered to at all times with all confidential data securely stored away to minimise any risk.
- Maintain good working relationships with peers, deputise for your Team Manager and offer a high level of support to your colleagues. A continual assessment of the team is required ensuring training needs are addressed and sufficient cover is maintained at all times.
- Reflect the company's core values through demonstrating positive behaviours in relation to your objectives and all stakeholders.

Key Skills & Experience

- Experience of SAGE Financial Systems or similar general ledger.
- Accounting knowledge and experience, particularly within Accounts Payable and Sales Ledger.
- Good IT skills/Microsoft Excel/Word.
- Team focused work ethic.
- Decisiveness.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Flexible attitude to work and to take on new projects.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
