ACCOUNTANT ASSISTANT/INSURANCE INDUSTRY/FINANCE

Our Insurance client requires an Accountant Assistant to help assist and support the group solutions division and UK Company Accountant, to produce accurate and timely finance reports to support reporting to group solution Executive and internal management. To assist in ensuring complete and accurate accounting records are maintained across all ledgers.

1) Raise sales invoices, allocate payments and follow up queries with customers.
2) Validate & process purchase invoices, ensuring they are matched to purchase orders.
3) Answer queries from suppliers regarding payments.
4) Process and validate all employee expense claims.
5) Complete & process month end accruals and prepayments schedules.
6) Accurately complete monthly bank reconciliations.
7) Maintain & reconcile relevant balance sheet reconciliations.
8) Assist in the preparation of monthly reporting packs, analysing the balance sheets and full Profit & Loss for AXA Group Solutions in the UK.
9) Assist the AGS Company Accountant with reporting, audit & tax preparation and queries.
10)Assist in compilation of budgets and forecasts.

Timely and accurate preparation of management/financial reports in accordance with AGS and Group requirements, and reconciliations prepared and agreed.

Invoices issued on time, no audit problems and Suppliers accurately paid within credit terms, no audit problems. Reconciliations carried out on time to a good standard

Able to create positive working relationships with both internal and external contacts. Feedback from internal customers on service standards and reliability.

Tackles issues that arise in a logical manner and provides an excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.

Dimensions impacted by job (including number of people managed, turnover and budgets expressed in £ p.a.)Insurance group solutions UK Turnover approx. £5M.

To be computer literate with good Excel and SAP skills (desirable) with excellent communication skills, able to deal with customers and staff at all levels.

Ideal opportunity to gain an insight into the financial control processes of a small company. Ability to meet crucial and demanding deadlines.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Previous experience working within a finance team is a must have along with any experience of working within the insurance or finance industry.

Awareness of UKGAAP accounting

AAT, ACCA or CIMA student - study support considered

Interfacing with the Head of group solutions and the Group Solutions, Paris the Finance Business Partners/GS UK Internal customers and AGS UK Suppliers and the Accounting & Support Teams, eg Audit, Tax, Payroll
