My Client is a government Department keen to recruit an Accounts Assistant into their busy team. The ideal candidate will be immediately available with previous Public Sector experience. This is a three day per week position.

You will be assisting the Agency Accountant with the production of the year end accounts and providing support during the start of the new financial year.

This includes:
Provide supporting schedules for audit as required
Perform reconciliations of General Ledger accounts as required
Asset register reconciliations
Complete returns for other organisations as required
Support the Agency Accountant on the preparation of the Annual Accounts
Produce financial reports as required
Provide support to the Purchase Ledger and Sales Ledger processes

Essential Skills
Good knowledge of Excel
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
Familiar with accounting packages
Good understanding of Accounts and bookkeeping
Good organisation skills
Clear communication skills (written and verbal)
Experience of working in an accounts office

Desirable Skills
Familiar with SunAccounts version 4 and Vision (Q&A) reporting tool.
Familiar with asset register and associated accounting
Accounting qualification
