Accounting Technician

JOB DESCRIPTION:

- Real Estate and Franchise Accounting (REF) records transactions for over 2,000 operators and more than 14,000 U.S. Restaurants.
- REF is responsible for the calculation and billing of rents and service fees, as well as construction payments and related fixed asset accounting processes.
- REF helps account for and manages over $10 billion in fixed assets.
- REF provides lease and contract accounting services, and supports the U.S. Agenda initiatives, including the Major Remodel Program.
- Key customers include the Division and Regional Finance and Development Teams, the U.S. Controller Group, the Corporate Controller Group, Franchising, Legal, Corporate Tax, and Asset Management.
- This position requires an individual to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- The position must ensure SOX compliance for various processes related to accounts payable and project close out.
- Key customers include the Regional Development Teams, U.S. Controller Group, National Suppliers and other Home Office Departments
- The role is 80% analytical and 20% AP
- 85% Account/Project Reconciliation
- 15% transactional A/P
- Will train on SOX compliance

SKILLS:

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Knowledge of Account Reconciliation and construction project reconciliation; Background in analytical/reconciliation is emphasized.
- Assisting with workflow for Projects and Initiatives.
- Processing of PO and Non PO invoices
- Auditing of invoices
- Scanning of invoices into BPM system
- Working with the Regions to resolve invoices on hold
- Working with suppliers to get correct invoicing information
- Some previous Accounts Payable experience preferred; basic understanding of Accounting Concepts.
- Must have strong customer service/communication skills to interact with Regional and Home Office customers.
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Multi-tasking/handling multiple priorities
- Strong organizational skills
- Previous Oracle and Excel experience preferred
- Accounting Degree Preferred
- Would like to see candidates with more of an analytical/reconciliation background and less AP focused.
