Accounting Associate

SUMMARY:

- This position is responsible for critical Back Office support of the RDM Finance application leads to ensure we maintain the highest level of support for finance tools and processes.
- The person in this role will be responsible for key Intellectual Property Funding (IPF) tasks associated with quarterly market recharge process and related SOX compliance validations.
- This role will also ensure the integrity of R&D cost center master data to support a variety of finance processes and reporting.
- This individual will interact with Finance colleagues in a variety of disciplines and collaborate with our Decision Support Center of Excellence (DS CoE) and Business Technology (BT) partners.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Maintain system data and business rules related to the Intellectual Property (IP) Funding model. This includes: executing routine data loads and validating system results, updating IP owners and Line Categorizations as required, and ensuring that system updates are documented for audit purposes.
- Prepare IP Funding quarterly recharge invoices on behalf of R and responding to business inquiries.
- Provide critical Back Office support to other financial application (Activity Tracking, Business Objects, Cognos, and PFAS) leads. This would include but not be limited to: investigating user issues, monitoring application support mailboxes, and executing application maintenance processes,
- Partner with Global Financial Services (GFS) to create Cost Centers in primary General Ledger systems.
- Maintain the integrity of the Cost Center hierarchy in GIF or SAP BI. Manage the SharePoint Cost Center site and ensure we consistently meet or surpass Service Level Agreement (SLA) terms.
- Facilitate the mapping of GL account codes to RDM expense code hierarchy sub-category level.
- Collaborate with BT support teams to reconcile financial results each accounting period. Document and support any system enhancements that may be required.
- Responsible for Business Objects (BO) Finance Expense reporting which includes troubleshooting end user report issues and consolidating user requirements to ensure that reports are meeting needs of user community.
- Manage security as BO Gatekeeper for Finance Expense reporting. Review and approve end user access and conduct periodic audit reviews.
- Participate in IPF, BO and other application user acceptance testing (UAT) as necessary.
- Support the department lead in any special projects, initiatives, application migrations or investigations as needed.

SKILLS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

- BS in Accounting/Business Technology or related degree preferred.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.
- Experience working with financial applications, data warehouses and their underlying structures preferred.

TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
