Accountant - Treasury/IFRS/HFM

Our Client are currently seeking an accountant to join their team in Bracknell for an initial 12 month contract.

JOB PURPOSE AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

-Maintain the Treasury Accounting module on the Wallstreet systems (Treasury Management System) and submit the results for Treasury and Corporate legal entities.
-Submit monthly results through the HFM consolidation system.
-Provide technical accounting support to the Treasury Department on the impact of new hedging strategies being proposed.
-Report on finance leases and off-balance sheet finance transactions.
-Derivative reporting for the purpose of statutory disclosures.
-Submission of quarterly forecast information.
-Present at quarterly internal audit review meetings for Treasury related balances.
-Review new commercial contracts for Embedded derivatives terms and conditions and report separately if applicable.
-Account for Brand fees.
-Report on Net Finance costs for the Group and provide commentaries on interest and foreign exchange.
-Report on statutory disclosures relating to financial instruments
-Liaison with external auditors on the accounting treatment being used.
-Provide Tax information to the Tax Department for Corporation Tax and VAT purposes.
-File and sign off reports for J-Sox compliance purposes.
-Accounting for ad-hoc activities such as corporate restructuring transactions

SKILLS - MANDATORY:

-An understanding of Treasury transactions including derivatives
-Working knowledge and application of IFRS 9: Financial instruments

SKILLS - USEFUL:

-Experience of Treasury systems
-HFM experience
-Forecasting
-Financial Modelling
-Financial Control
-Technical accounting application experience
-Experience of Hedge accounting is an advantage experience

SKILLS - ON THE JOB:

-General understanding of VAT accounting
-Brand fee agreements and reporting
-An understanding of lease transactions
