ACCOUNTANT - INSURANCE/FINANCE - BRISTOL

My client, a Leading Financial Services Company, is recruiting for an Accountant top focus on ensuring the accuracy and completeness of the income statement and balance sheet and the interpretation and analysis of the result within their Insurance finance division on a rolling contract based in Bristol.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Month end journal posting, monthly analytical review and completion of controls. Initiating, leading and performing investigations to ensure that movements in the month end numbers can be explained.

2. Reviewing reconciliations on a monthly basis, understanding the reconciling items and working with other areas to reduce the number of reconciling items.

3. Analysing financial information in order to investigate and explain unusual trends and variances, resolution of queries/issues relating to the general ledger.

4. Undertaking further analysis work upon request and resolving queries relating to financial and statistical information supplied to others, including regulatory and trade bodies.

5. Preparation of quarterly Group reporting, annual statutory accounts and other relevant returns, including taking responsibility for the completion and ownership
