Job Title: Accountant (Insurance)

Rate: £450-£520 P/d

The Solvency II (SII) programme is looking to bring in an accountant to support the development of year-end reporting for companies within the bank's Insurance Division.

The role is within the accounting change team. The role will focus on:

- analysis of accounting records across multiple ledger systems with a view to creating a consistent nominal ledger mapping hierarchy to be used in the production of the 2014 Insurance Division's IFRS and regulatory returns;
- help design, build/develop, and test journals, including consolidation journals, to facilitate the production of an extended trial balance for company IFRS and regulatory reporting;

The ideal candidate should:

be able to show previous insurance reporting or finance operations experience and an understanding of a Insurance Balance Sheet. We also expect the candidate to be able to demonstrate strong excel (use of complex formulae, lookups, pivot tables etc).
As part of a project team, the successful candidate will work with accountants, actuaries and tax SME's across the Finance Reporting team, and have opportunities to present the output of their work to senior management.

We are looking for someone with:

- Experienced in the use of, and or, development of reporting/journal processes from Oracle, OLAS ledger systems and Essbase. Further experience of SAP is advantageous.
- Track record of ownership and delivery to deadlines,
- Problem solving experience;
- Experience of IFRS reporting for Insurance companies;
- Strong excel and analytical skills, and experience;
