Accountant - Infrastructure Services

My client, a global investment bank is currently recruiting for an Accountant to join their team on a contract basis.

The focus of the department includes P&L, Middle Office, balance sheet substantiation, risk, independent pricing verification and month end processing of transaction feeds into regulatory reporting systems.

This role is within the Financial Disclosures Data Stream function in GBS which is primarily focused on:- Processing transaction, collateral and facility data for regulatory reporting purposes from core strategic source systems (for derivatives and securities) and non strategic sources (manual feeds) for the London branch reporting of Global Credit and EM Credit business areas monthly process.
Process securitization relevant transactions for regulatory reporting purposes from core strategic source systems for the Global Markets business weekly process.
Submitting data into the group regulatory reporting transaction systems.
Ensuring that the data loaded to the transaction repository is complete, accurate, validated and mapped to key reference data systems for the purposes of group regulatory reporting.
Collation, production, review, analysis and submission of accounting disclosures for GC and EM, on a quarterly and annual basis.

Role:
This specific role will be focused on the monthly processing of all relevant feeds and required adjustments to positions in the strategic systems so that data flow to Regulatory systems is of good quality.

The core aspects of the role will cover:-
-Acquiring transaction, collateral and facility data for regulatory reporting purposes from core strategic source systems and non strategic sources (manual feeds) for the London and Frankfurt branch Global Rates businesses.
-Running reconciliations and controls from core strategic source systems and non strategic sources (manually or MS Excel/Access).
-Submitting data into the group regulatory and financial reporting transaction systems
-Ensuring that the data loaded to the transaction repository is complete, accurate, validated and mapped to key reference data systems for the purposes of group regulatory and financial reporting.
-Managing the changes in requirements and differing timelines between of reporting for the weekly cycle and the full month end process.
-Communication and investigation of breaks between systems to the business owners.
-Upstream and static data fixes in response to control breaks in the process.
-Working with the business to understand and resolve issues going forward.
-Production of monthly and quarterly MIS packs.

Essential skills:
-Strong spreadsheet skills and experienced user of MS Excel
-Strong data analysis skills through the use of Excel (pivot tables, VBA etc)
-An analytical mindset and good approach to problem solving.
-Ability to work under pressure, understand complex business specifications as well as data requirements and work to tight deadlines
-Self starter and ability to communicate well across different groups at all levels
-Strong attention to detail and controls focus
-Good approach to problem solving and process focused

Education/Qualifications:
Minimum Degree level or the equivalent work experience
Part/Qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) - desirable not necessary
