Job duties:
Directs and completes complex, major, unstructured, one-time and ad hoc projects in financial reporting, as needed.
Creates ad hoc reports as requested, translating management request into specific report content and formats.
Research challenging questions and unusual cases; respond to escalated issues or volatile situations.
Supports conversion to new systems and processes by documenting process changes and providing training.
Manages the processes and workflow of accountants preparing financial reports for regulatory and management reporting and reviewing all workpapers.
Subject matter expert on accounting issues for the department.
Acts as the primary interface between Financial Reporting, IT and other organizations for major systems changes and mergers, gathering and negotiating requirements, working issues, and reporting back to management.
Coordinates and oversees department accounting activities and project manage critical processes and important deliverables, including journal entries and account recs performed by staff, to ensure on-time completion.
Review for accuracy and reasonableness and identify and resolve issues, for management approval.
Prepare complex journal entries and challenging or especially complex account recs or reports, which may require sophisticated process, contractual, and/or accounting understanding or with high visibility and/or impact.
Responsible for closing the monthly books and preparing all financial statements and reports for HCSC and/or one or more highly complex, risky and visible subsidiaries.

Job Requirements:
College degree in accounting and 5 years of accounting experience
Experience with financial reporting systems.
MS Office Suite - Intermediate Level especially MS Excel and Access.
Analytical skills.
Detail oriented.
2 years audit experience
Clear, concise, grammatical communication with appropriate word choice, adapted to the audience.
Supervisory skills including coaching, process improvement, and employee development.
Salary: $54,000-$60,000
