One of our large Investment Banking clients is looking for an experienced Financial Accountant to join their team

Working within a core stakeholder management group within Group Finance, supporting UK entity legal entity controllers and local management in the governance of key entities. Scope will cover both financial and regulatory reporting and give the opportunity to understand entities across all accounting dimensions

Responsibilities:

Governance support:
* Review accounting records, financial statements or other financial reports created by staff to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
* Collect and analyse data to detect deficient controls, duplicated effort, extravagance, fraud, or non-compliance with laws, regulations, and management policies.
* Analyse and verify annual reports, financial statements, and other records, using accepted accounting and statistical procedures to assess financial condition and facilitate financial planning.
* Investment banking experience, with capital awareness and experience with legal entities 
* Key products are derivatives (OTC and Listed), trading securities, loans and secured financing transactions.

Private Banking and Asset Management Governance support:
* Review accounting records, financial statements or other financial reports created by staff to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
* Collect and analyse data to detect deficient controls, duplicated effort, extravagance, fraud, or non-compliance with laws, regulations, and management policies.
* Analyse, and verify annual reports, financial statements, and other records, using accepted accounting and statistical procedures to assess financial condition and facilitate financial planning.
* Investment banking experience, with capital awareness and experience with legal entities
* Handling mini/multiple ad-hoc projects.
* Have a balance sheet of US$ 2 billion which trades all standard PB and AM products.

New Business coordination
Co-ordinate for Group Finance the new business process working with the legal entity control teams in London and Pune and the regulatory reporting teams in London and New York.
Run project update meetings with Group Finance senior management on new business projects status.
Represent Group Finance in New Business cross function meetings

Essential:
Fully qualified Accountant ACCA, ACA, CIMA.
Core financial reporting line experience within a large investment and/or private bank preferred. (or similar)
US GAAP and IFRS accounting knowledge preferred.
Experience of review and production of statutory accounts for large companies
Banking Product knowledge ( key products are derivatives (OTC and Listed), trading securities, loans and secured financing transactions
