CLIENT: One of the country's largest health care and health plan providers

DEPARTMENT: Accounting & Reporting

SIZE OF TEAM: 7 on this team, and 20 - 25 in the department

JOB DESCRIPTION:

- Uses professional accounting concepts and internal company policies to solve complex accounting issues including the maintenance of internal controls
- Participates in and implements monthly financial close, supervises the assignments of the staff accountants to include general ledger, accounts payable and fixed assets
- Prepares monthly management financial reporting package and executive summary schedules
- Coordinates and facilitates the process of documenting accounting policies and procedures

TOP DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Journal Entry processing
- Account reconciliations
- Variance analysis
- Special projects

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS:

- BA/BS degree in business with emphasis (ideally) in Accounting
- Minimum 2-3 years' relevant experience
- Strong analytical accounting skills
- At least intermediate Excel skills
- Large company experience with Mainframe experience and working with large amounts of data
- Health care background strongly desired
