Accountant - 15 week contract

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This position requires a strong GAAP knowledge (CPA preferred) and is responsible for assisting in the preparation of combined/consolidated financial statements and footnotes, assisting in the combined/consolidated closing process; performing reconciliations and preparing reports and schedules; distributing and assisting with quality control checks on reports and documents and other duties as assigned.

Assist in the closing process and the preparation of combined/consolidated financial statements

Uses professional accounting concepts and internal company policies to solve complex accounting issues including the maintenance of internal controls. Participates in and implements monthly financial close, supervises the assignments of the staff accountants to include general ledger, accounts payable and fixed assets. Prepares monthly management financial reporting package and executive summary schedules. Coordinates and facilitates the process of documenting accounting policies and procedures

REQUIREMENTS:

THIS POSITION REQUIRES A STRONG GAAP KNOWLEDGE

CPA PREFERRED

BA in Accounting or Finance plus five (5) years demonstrated experience performing detailed accounting functions including preparation of supporting schedules, journal entries, financial statements and account reconciliations.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and accounting procedures
Aptitude for numbers, strong attention to detail and well organized
Excellent written and verbal communication and problem solving skills
Goal Focused, optimistic and positive attitude, and self-confident
Travel required: Yes, 5% of the Time
