Accountant

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Assist in the monthly, quarterly and year-end close process including:
Preparing accruals using historical and new data 
Perform and upload journal entries into Oracle
Perform analytics on variances and resolve issues
Complete monthly account reconciliations including variance investigation
Adhere to GAAP and proper accounting standards/policies
Assist external auditors with requests and inquiries on an as needed basis
Continue to maintain controls and compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley
Assist with implementing new strategies and process improvements when necessary
Participate in or perform ad-hoc projects as needed

SKILLS:

MANDATORY SKILLS:
Mid-level ERP
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
Preparing & posting adjusting journal entries
Variance analysis
Monthly account reconciliations
Working knowledge of GAAP as applied to a public company
Working knowledge of controls and compliance
Prepare journal entries - Analyze transactions, accounts, account history, talking with department managers in order to prepare GL entries that comply with GAAP, Reconcile GL Accounts
