Accountant

Harvey Nash is seeking a Qualified Corporate Accountant to join a large public sector client based in Alloa for a contract which will run until November initially with the possibility for extension following this. The role is a full time contract however the client will also consider any applicants who wish to work a 4 day week.

The role sits as part of the clients Corporate Accounts and Finance team and will be reporting directly into the Chief Accountant.

Responsibilities will include:

* Maintaining the Asset Register

* Overseeing the Accounts Payable

* Taking an active role in small projects including the development of policy

* The completion of statutory returns and the development of the annual accounts process

* There may also be some supervisory and management responsibilities within the role.

The successful candidate will hold the following skills and experience:

* Hold a professional Accounting Qualification - CCAB or CIMA or equivalent.

* The candidate should be a Technical Accountant

* Experience of working in a financial environment within the public sector, preferably in a local authority/council

* You will also hold the confidence to work independently and to use your initiative when required.
