I am looking to hire an Accountant for my health sector client.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

- Organised and able to work flexibly and independently to tight deadlines, good communication skills,
- Excellent Excel skills.
- Experience of quantitative analysis

The resources required will support on specific parts of the year-end delivery plan as follows:

- These activities are critical to the year-end financial accounts and annual report process, are manual/resource intensive and often logistically complex. 

Technical support with year-end project management activities including:

- preparation and monitoring of project plans and timetables (covering year-end activities up to Group accounts submission),
- coordination of year-end communications via the year-end mailbox and SharePoint)
- management of year-end financial queries, FAQs and external audit requests
- monitoring and consolidation of Area Team, CSU and CCG finance returns
- preparation for (and attendance at) year-end steering group meetings, project meetings and NAO audit meetings (including actions monitoring and reporting)
- maintenance of year-end distribution and communication lists for Area Teams, CSUs and CCGs, including designated SharePoint contacts and access permissions
- review and agreement of Area Team, CSU and CCG year-end

Responsibilities

- update and distribution of year-end checklists and deliverables for Area Teams, CSUs and CCGs
- monitoring and reporting of resource requirements
- coordination of the year-end accounts/consistency checking exercise
- ad hoc project support requests
- Technical support with year-end financial accounting and management accounting activities including:
- off-payroll workers analysis
- sickness data consolidation and distribution (including provision of guidance and coordination of associated queries)
- calculation of pay multiples for the annual report
- coordination and reconciliation of the GP assurance statement
- agreement of balances activities
- Creation of X25 templates and work papers and external audit work papers
- Preparation of journal trackers for reconciling movements between draft and final accounts
- Preparation

The individuals required to fill these posts will require the following skill(s):

- Knowledge of Health sector year-end requirements
- Strong project management skills
- Strong communication, influencing and organisational/planning skills
- Understanding of Oracle/ISFE
- Accountancy qualification
- Strong Microsoft Project and Excel skills
- Strong financial accounting/management accounting background
- Understanding of FOI requirements
