Account Manager (Business development)

To identify business opportunities, develop new areas of potential business and develop appropriate relationships to deliver revenue.

1. Identify and develop commercial business opportunities that will generate revenue streams for the business so that the business achieves its commercial goals
2. Engage with potential clients to generate future work and influence their approach.
3. Own and operate the first two decision stages of the 'concept to market' process so that all business cases are signed off at the right forum.
4. Provide an annual forecast of business so that the operational organisation can size itself appropriately.
5. Undertake analysis and identification of future opportunities so that the business has a pipeline of opportunities
6. Manage and maintain the CRM database enabling all relevant commercial activities to be undertaken and to provide the business with a shared view of the current status of all business relationships.
7. Maintain processes, systems and quality standards for the management of market intelligence and market analysis

Significant experience of accessing collaborative grant funding within the UK and the rest of Europe including but not limited to EU Framework Programme and Technology Strategy Board grant funding streams

* Proven experience in the establishment of Pan-European industrial consortium's in support of grant funding programmes

* Proven experience in the negotiation and establishment of contracts for the management of intellectual property rights including, licensing, exploitation and sharing of technology

* Proven experience of successfully negotiating across a broad range of organisational types including Small To Medium size Enterprises (SME's), Large Enterprises (LE's) and academia including Research and Technology Organisations (RTO's) and Universities

* Experience of writing successful proposals for grant funding schemes in the transport sector 

* Proven experience in securing external business

* Very good customer relationship management at a senior level

* Excellent influencing skills

* Previous experience of brand development & management
